List of Colleges Turned To Remote Education Due To COVID-19

Last update: March 19, 2020, 12:41 am EST
As the COVID-19 (novel coronavirus) pandemic takes hold, U.S. colleges continue to closely monitor the spread of coronavirus and change their campus operation policies. As the situation continues to change rapidly, most institutes are immediately making decisions to protect their community. Most campuses remains open for the duration of the spring semester, but have immediate implications:
  • Extended Spring Break
  • Temporarily Closing
  • Remote Learning (Online Classes) at least two weeks
  • Remote Learning (Online Classes) Through the end of Spring Semester
  • Re-arrange the Spring Semester Schedule
For their students, employees, and visitors, schools have developed COVID-19 information page and put the link on their web. The pages provide information related to the coronavirus - the current status of campus operations, COVID-19 test results for community members, on-campus events, campus housing options, travel, visitor information, and more. Most schools update the page daily. If you plan to visit a school for admission event such as open house, it is better to check the school's COVID-19 response.
Many schools already suspended the person-to-person classes and started online classes last week and last Monday, March 16. Schools on spring break will resume class in remote way from Monday, March 23 / March 30. Schools that do not have online class platform and need time to prepare remote classes extend spring break or cancel class schedule and will begin the online classes from Monday, March 30.
The alternative online classes will continue to the end of spring semester in most schools while some schools mentioned "at least" 2-4 weeks for the remote teaching (but most likely extended).
Next table shows colleges that close its campus and move to online classes with effective date, duration, and COVID-19 page of the institute as of March 19, 2020, 12:41 am EST.
